Camp for blind people - July 2024.
Between July 3rd and 8th - for the sixth time now - we organized a camp for blind people in Balatonföldvár, with the participation of nearly 60 people. We had a small group of American volunteers with us this year as well, who brightened the life of the camp and were of great help to us.
As part of the morning and evening devotions, we glorified, prayed and studied the Bible. The theme of the week was "So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free".
As part of our cooperation, Alexandra Nógrádiné Kovács, pastor of the Reformed Blind Mission, and Mária Bieber, president of the Együttlátók Foundation, honored our camp with their presence and teaching. Andrea Bokros, the head of the Special Mission of the Hungarian Baptist Church, sent the introduction and greeting of the special mission to the campers in a voice message. Eight campers accepted Jesus into their hearts as savior and several renewed their relationship with Jesus.
The weather was kind to us, so we didn't miss swimming in the Balaton, which seems natural to sighted people, but making a beach "accessible" and safe for a blind person is not an easy task. With the help of our volunteers, we solved this too, giving the campers a lasting experience.
Campers could also experience sailing on the Balaton. An unusual experience for both the sighted and the blind people.
As in previous years, the camp went very well. Several people have already indicated that we can definitely count on their participation next year.
Thank you very much for your prayers and financial support!
