Mission of the American LPC Congregation at the Bartimeus Foundation - September 2021

September 22-30 The team of the American Landing Place Church served at our foundation. One missionary of the team, Dr. Mark Hardacre, an American professor of ophthalmology, who gave a lecture at 2 locations in Pécs and Győr entitled “Life after vision loss”, where he talked about the latest treatments for eye diseases such as retinitis pigmentosa, macular degeneration, and diabetes and described the latest research methods and technologies - e.g. gene therapy, stem cell therapy - which can be a hope for the visually impaired and the blind in the future. The video of the lecture was videotaped and made public on the White Cane Day on October 15 (posted on our website) for the blind people in Hungary. After the lectures, audiobibles were distributed.

With the team we took part in the service of the Budaörs Kőszikla Church, where Mark Hardacre preached the word and we visited the orphanage in Budaörs and we organized a joint event with the youth of Kőszikla Church for the children of the Törökbálint Orphanage.

In a school in Budapest and 2 in Biatorbágy, the Americans talked about America, their holidays and their culture to the children.

We went to Gerényes, where Mark Hardacre held a worship service to gipsies, visited some in their homes and prayed for them. We distributed food to the poor.
