What we do

The Bartimeus Foundation is an interdenominational Christian organization. The purpose of this foundation is to reach the blind, the partially sighted, and their families in Hungary and in central Europe with the hope of the Good news to build a relationship between the disabled and Jesus Christ through Christian contents and programs.

We are working with different churches, to help them opening towards the disabled, through different events, church services, community times, and in evangelizations. Besides that, we do mentoring for the disabled, so that they could be part of their communities, even to be able to serve as leaders in their churches and communities.

We organize camps for blind and visually impared people.

We know that Bartimeus Foundation cannot fulfill this big need by itself. That is the reason why we are constantly communicating with different denominations, organizations, who have mission towards disabled people. We came to agreements to work together because we know that “together we are more effective”. We are part of the Hungarian Evangelical Alliance, and we are working with different denominations, such as the Hungarian Baptist Church Special Mission.

We also made steps internationally as well. First, we would like to learn from our international partners and then to find opportunities to work together. We are working together with the InTouch Ministry, also with Torch Trust. We are also connecting with the European Disability Network; we are part of their leadership board.

Bartimeus is committed to:

  •  share the love of God shown in Jesus in both words and actions

  • seek to operate in accordance with the principles taught by the Holy Bible

  • open to those of all faiths and none

Four things what we do:

1. Evangelize people affected by disabilities and their families

2. Train, disciple, and mentor people affected by disabilities

3. Communicate the Gospel and equip, sensitize Christ-honoring Churches in the Eastern European region to involve, evangelize and disciple people affected by disabilities.

4. Promote a biblical view about disability
